Option 1: Book an Author Visit
 
There’s something truly special about having an author visit in person. It’s like the characters from your favorite stories jump right off the page and into real life. These visits ignite a love for reading, boost comprehension, and spark creativity. Kids get to see behind the scenes of storytelling, learn about the writing process, and feel inspired to create their own stories. It’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
 
Sharing my book, The Wonder of Under, is one of the highlights of being an author. I offer an interactive storytelling session that will captivate young minds. Kids will also discover their own little adventure through a fun sailboat craft. It’s an easy hands-on project that your young readers will love, giving them the opportunity to imagine their own journeys.

If you’re looking for a different kind of reading adventure, my Step into Story Reading Adventures are just the ticket. You choose the book and I will create a proposal for an adventure that goes beyond the book, incorporating themed activities to create an unforgettable experience. Here are some examples of activities that we can consider:

• Scavenger Hunts  

Who doesn’t love a good scavenger hunt? These exciting hunts are designed to tie into the story’s theme, encouraging kids to explore and discover elements related to the narrative. It’s a fun way to make the story interactive and help kids engage with the material in a deeper way.

• Craft Activities

Craft activities are a staple of my reading adventures. Kids love getting hands-on and creating something related to the story. These projects not only reinforce the themes and characters but also give children a tangible connection to the narrative.

• Story Starters with Writing Opportunities  

Encouraging creativity and writing is at the heart of my programs. Story starters provide prompts that inspire kids to create their own tales, expanding their imagination and writing skills. It’s a fantastic way to foster a love for storytelling and self-expression.

Acting out the story is another favorite activity. Kids get to step into the shoes of their favorite characters, bringing the story to life through role-playing. It’s a dynamic and engaging way to experience the narrative from a new perspective.

Story cubes are a hit! By rolling the dice, kids can come up with different elements for their own stories, or create a story as a group. It’s a playful and creative way to explore new ideas and engage with storytelling in a fun, interactive manner.

Steps to Schedule an Author Visit or Step into Story Reading Adventure
 
Booking an author visit or a reading adventure with me is a breeze. Here’s the lowdown:

1. Request your visit through my Book an Adventure page. Once you submit your request, I’ll respond within 48 hours to schedule our first meeting. We’ll chat about your event’s details, either over the phone or online, to nail down the specifics. 
   
   
2. During our initial chat, we’ll discuss everything about your event, including the location, date, and preferred activities. This meeting is crucial for understanding your needs and preferences, ensuring the event is perfectly tailored to your audience.  
   
   
3. Based on our discussion, I’ll draft a list of activities and provide timeframes and cost estimates for each. This plan will be customized to suit your preferences, ensuring a memorable and engaging experience for all participants.  
   
   
4. Once you’ve chosen your favorite activities, I’ll refine the plan and send you a final estimate. This step ensures transparency and allows for any last-minute adjustments before final approval.

 
The Process from Booking to Event Day
 
From booking to event day, you can expect a seamless and enjoyable process. After approving the final estimate, I’ll handle the rest, ensuring that your event is well-organized and runs smoothly. My goal is to provide an engaging and memorable experience that leaves a lasting impact on your audience.
 
To ensure a successful adventure, I provide tips and guidelines for preparing your venue and participants. This includes setting up the space, gathering materials for activities (if necessary), and prepping the audience for an interactive and engaging experience.
