Here are a couple of links to events that I launched. In both cases, I directed the entire event, from conception to completion. My work included writing and designing marketing material, distributing marketing material and information to the public, recruiting instructors and participants and securing a facility. Happily Ever After Children's Literature Festival

In August, 2013, I hosted the Happily Ever After Children's Literature Festival. I thought of the idea when trying to be creative in raising money for a family who was working to adopt a child with special needs. I contacted local children's authors to set up tables, asking them to simply donate a percentage of their sales or another set amount of money of their choosing. I recruited volunteers who helped with storybook-themed refreshments, face painting, a writing station, a craft station, and even had a storyteller and children's publisher offer make presentations. I received a lot of positive feedback on this event. Every author who attended said they'd return.

 STAND Women's Self-Defense

In spring 2014, I offered a women's self-defense event to help sell self-defense products. A local apartment complex, Williamsburg on the Lake, offered to host the event for free and help with marketing, in exchange that they could use it as their monthly Neighborhood Watch requirement. I recruited three police officers who shows physical self-defense and then showed attendees how to use pepper sprays and stun guns, along with other self-defense items.
