![]() Meet My Illustrator: Jasmine Wall I can’t wait to launch my next children’s book, Remmy’s Sticky Situation, into the world! Not only did I enjoy writing the story, but I’ve fallen in love with this crazy little racoon. However, what is a picture book without great visuals to bring it to life? Let me introduce you to the brilliant illustrator behind Remmy and his colorful world: Jasmine Wall! Who Is Jasmine Wall? Born in the vibrant heart of India, Jasmine has been creating art since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Her early sketches turned everyday moments into something magical, sparking a lifelong love for visual storytelling. Jasmine pursued her passion through formal studies in Fine Arts and Textile Printmaking, sharpening her eye for color and texture. She didn’t stop there! She went on to study Illustration and Classical Animation Basics, blending traditional artistry with a contemporary twist. Her artistic journey led her to the gift industry, where she crafted whimsical, engaging designs for countless products. She even launched her own stationery brand in 2014, featuring playful illustrations that have found homes in shops across the U.S. Jasmine’s Storytelling Magic Illustration isn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about bringing a story to life for readers. That’s exactly what Jasmine does, and she does it brilliantly. She’s no stranger to children’s literature, having illustrated two educational books for Scholastic Canada, which showcased her knack for capturing the imagination of young readers. For Remmy’s Sticky Situation, Jasmine is taking my vision of Remmy the raccoon and his sticky problem and is transforming it into something absolutely amazing. Her use of color, texture, and playful details are perfectly capturing the warmth and humor of Remmy’s journey. Kids are going to love it! ![]() What Makes Jasmine the Perfect Illustrator for Remmy? Jasmine and I both freelance for a local marketing firm, Write Connections. Having already known Jasmine was a huge bonus, particularly knowing that she’s wonderful to work with. When I saw Jasmine’s other illustrated work, I knew she would be perfect for this project. She has an ability to infuse charm into her characters and her knack for storytelling through art makes her an ideal fit. I love receiving new illustrations from her that capture the emotions in Remmy’s Sticky Situation—from Remmy’s frustration over his disappearing cotton candy to the heartwarming resolution where he learns the value of friendship. Her work doesn’t just complement the story—it elevates it. Behind the Scenes with Jasmine When she’s not in her studio, Jasmine lives in Goshen, Indiana, with her animator husband, Ryan, and their talented daughter, Meghan. Whether she’s working on her next big project or cheering Meghan on in the performing arts, Jasmine brings a touch of creativity to everything she does. Jasmine’s illustrations have been featured in magazines like Stationery Trends and Gift Shop. She’s even made appearances on TV. Why Remmy’s Sticky Situation Will Stick with You At its core, this book is about the ups and downs of friendships and the courage it takes to own up to mistakes. A humbling lesson that many of us have faced — both as adults and as kids. Jasmine’s artwork beautifully captures this emotional journey, engaging readers of all ages and helping them to connect with the story. Each brushstroke and splash of color is a testament to her talent, creativity, and passion for storytelling. I couldn’t imagine anyone else illustrating this heartwarming tale about friendship, forgiveness, and (of course) cotton candy! Stay Tuned! I’m so grateful to be working with Jasmine on this project, and I can’t wait for you all to fall in love with her illustrations just as much as I have. If you’re curious to see more of Jasmine’s amazing work, stay tuned! I promise to pop in a teaser illustration on social media (there are a handful on there already) and in my newsletter (sign up so you don’t miss these). And who knows? Maybe we’ll create even more of Remmy’s adventures for your bookshelf after this one. Remmy’s Sticky Situation is tentatively scheduled to be released in February 2025. We have a timeline and are hopeful that we can make that happen. We will also be looking for beta readers and a launch team when the time comes. You will find that announced on social media and via the newsletter as well. We would love to have you join us on this journey! Here’s to celebrating the art, the story, and the friendships that make it all worthwhile. Instagram: @jasminewall.illustration
