One of the things I miss the most from when my kids were little is our story time moments. I loved bringing the characters to life by giving them unique (and often hilarious) voices. And here’s the thing … I didn't have to be good at it! Not that I was all that bad. My kids seemed to love it. But kids don’t care how good you are. They just love being with you and watching you as you step out of yourself and into the characters of a story. You are engaging with your kids in a playful level that touches their hearts and imagination. Using character voices, along with sound effects and dramatic pauses, helps bring stories to life! All of a sudden, something super special starts happening at the tomb. The big stone in front of the tomb starts moving, all on its own! Your heart starts racing as you watch in amazement. Then, out of the tomb comes Jesus, shining brighter than the sun! Now it’s time to grab your pencils, crayons — whatever you love to write or draw with — and share your story! Oh no! The zoo gates are closed, and you’re locked in! And even worse ... the sun is disappearing. You wander along the shadowy paths, watching the animals stir under the moonlight. You soon realize you can understand the animals and that they are talking to each other, sharing secrets. You stumble across an animal buddy to be with you as you continue your after-dark adventure in the zoo. Soon you both realize there is a big challenge you must overcome. Write (or draw) about your experience. So here’s a fun family reading adventure I’ve been dying to share! Are you looking for a fresh, fun way to engage your family's imagination and create something memorable together? Well, you're in luck! Today, I'm going to show you how to create storyboards with your family. This isn't just about drawing; it's about storytelling, bonding, and unleashing your collective creativity. Whether you're artistically inclined or can barely draw a stick figure, this activity is for everyone. Let’s get those creative gears turning! |
